  • 脚本家、作家。昭和7年(1923)3月23日、愛知県名古屋市生まれ。
    名古屋大学卒業後ＮＨＫに入社し、「バス通り裏」などのプロデュースを務める。1962年にＮＨＫを退職。虫プロで「鉄腕アトム」の脚本を書いたほか「デビルマン」「巨人の星」「サザエさん」「ドラえもん」等多数のアニメの脚本を書き、黎明期・成長期のテレビアニメ文化を支えた。
    小説家としては1963年に桂真佐喜の名義で「生意気な鏡の物語」を発表したのが実質的なスタート。そして1972年に「仮題・中学殺人事件」で異色推理作家としての名をミステリーファンの間に広めた。1981年には現実と物語が交錯する奇作「アリスの国の殺人」を発表して日本推理作家協会賞を受賞。代表作の「迷犬ルパン」シリーズは1983年から書き始めている。
